Set up accounts and working rules
Choose an organisation-owned platform, such as OpenAI or Anthropic Claude, subject to your approved technology and procurement requirements. Agree information-sharing rules, named access and review steps before using live customer, resident or project data.
Train with your own work
Practise providing context, breaking down a task, checking source material and recognising unsupported answers. Build reusable prompts and templates that suit the people doing the work.
Leave a process people can use
Document the workflow, its limits and who checks the output. Decide whether training is enough or whether a connection, automation or custom app would make the next improvement.

AI training sits alongside your existing IT security. Your organisation retains its accounts; we use separate, limited access where needed. Involve your IT team or provider in device security, access, backups and recovery. Council teams also need their own privacy, records, procurement and approval requirements included in the scope.

Do we need to understand AI already?
No. Start with one familiar task. The aim is to build useful habits and confidence without asking the team to learn every new tool.
Do we have to choose OpenAI or Claude?
We focus on these platforms and usually suggest one primary platform to keep administration and training consistent. The right choice depends on the work, integrations, plan and data requirements.
Does training mean committing to a software build?
